There are many qualities an entrepreneur must possess to make it in the business world. But here are the top 3 to keep in mind and be successful in your business if you're just starting up or in the early stages.
It is so important to keep your eye on the ball. There are many distractions nowadays. Just now, I got sidetracked for about 30 minutes when researching for this blog post and started watching MarieTV on Youtube. Almost made me start filling out worksheets and re-think my life goals until I stopped myself and got back to work.
Anyways, focus on your goals and what you're going to do to achieve them. Follow the plan and remember your big WHY, your motivations on why you're running this business in the first place.
Running a small business means you're running the show with limited staff or all by yourself yet the amount of work is still the same. The register need to be tended, the food need to be cooked, the dress need to be made, the shop need to be cleaned, the marketing need to be done and the customers need to be served.
You have to be resourceful and figure out how to get everything accomplished without stressing yourself out of your business.
Usually, when an entrepreneur starts a business, it's because they are passionate about it. But be sure this is really what you want and that you're willing to commit to it.
Plan where your business is going 4 months from now or a year from now and commit to it. Plan for the worst, which is not making enough profit in the beginning to re-invest in the business. What are you going to do if this happens to you? How are you going to overcome it? Are you going to close the business? Then why even start and lose the money you invested in it? I have seen many businesses here in Sioux City that closed down within 4 months because they didn't plan for the worst. Plan for the worst and it can only get better from there.
Keep these top 3 qualities in mind and you can make it. Everything else will fall into place.
